CultivArte: Eco-Art & Community Regeneration is an ongoing community-based environmental art project that integrates horticultural therapy, art therapy, and creative reuse practices to address food insecurity and ecological awareness in Puerto Rico.
Through participatory workshops and public activations, the project transforms discarded materials—such as plastic bottles, containers, and tires—into functional and aesthetically expressive growing systems. Participants engage in hands-on processes including soil creation, planting, and the artistic transformation of recycled objects into living sculptures.
Rooted in socially engaged art practices, CultivArte creates spaces for reflection, healing, and re-connection with the land. The act of cultivating becomes both a therapeutic ritual and a form of environmental action, encouraging mindfulness, self-expression, and collective care.
